"Mrs. Aubrey is a vital component to the success of the students at HCMS.  She makes every student in her class feel they are important.  Anytime one enters her classroom the excitement can be felt immediately.  She always has a smile on her face and is laughing with the students.  The students are all at ease in her presence.  She is consistently doing really cool things for the students in her class especially when she knows they are trying their best.  In fact, just this week she had a taco salad meal for the students that performed well on the social studies test. She is just an awesome person, an inspiration to all."--Traci Sanders

Lori Huff

"Lori has been a reliable and exceptional substitute for our district for several years. She has taken on multiple long-term sub positions and has done a phenomenal job. You know your class will be in great hands when Lori is there. This year, Lori has continued to pour herself into Hancock County Schools. She has been filling in for a 2/3 split classroom since the first day. Anyone that has taught a split class knows how difficult it can be and the 2nd/3rd grade split can be especially challenging with the differentiation required to meet the vastly different standards for the two grade levels. However, Lori went into the long-term substitute position without hesitation. Students needed her, our school needed her, so she was there! She has taken on the daunting task of learning the new Bridges Math Curriculum. She has gone to two separate trainings because she wanted to be the best she could be for the kids in that class. She got the new curriculum up and running, got it all organized in the classroom, and is constantly studying to make sure she is giving the students her very best. She stays late regularly and comes in on the weekends to prep because her number one priority is always the students. I am constantly blown away by her heart, determination, and work ethic. To top it all off, I never hear her complain and I ALWAYS see a smile on her face. She is such a gift to our students and staff. We will never be able to thank her enough for how she has stepped up for this district. I have no doubt that she is having an impact every single day and making our district an even better place in the process."--Betty Jane Mitchell
