My Background:
This is my eighth year teaching 5th grade at North Hancock Elementary School, before that I taught 1st and 2nd grade at South Hancock.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Kentucky Wesleyan College and a Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary K-5 from the University of the Cumberlands.  I am also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher in Literacy.

2021 - 2020 School Year:
This year, I will be teaching an ELA group comprised of reading and language arts (writing, spelling, & grammar), and I also teach 3 science classes along with number corner.  In fifth grade students switch teachers for Social Studies, Math, and Science / Number Corner and stay in homeroom for their ELA class. All 5th grade teachers will use Google Classroom throughout the year.

Communication:
My contact information is listed above if you need to get ahold of me for any reason.  Email is usually the quickest form of communication for me, but you can always call the school and leave a message for me to get back with you, send a note with your child, or send a text message to my cell phone.  5th grade will use Class Dojo.  Teachers will send information and updates through Class Dojo, so please download the app so you can stay informed.   Students will take home their take home folder nightly with forms and notes from the school. Also, students should be bringing home their Leadership Notebooks weekly.  This will give you an opportunity to see what they are working on in the classroom.
