Lunch Hero Day

A HUGE THANK YOU to all our Food Service Heroes!  Friday, May 4th was National School Lunch Hero Day.  Our Food Service Ladies were showered with thoughtful cards and posters by students and staff to show their appreciate for feeding young people as their minds are feed as well.  Additionally, we'd like to congratulate our staff at South Hancock Elementary for their "Above and Beyond" Award presented by the Hancock County Board of Education in April.  These team members are:  Maika Veach, Andrea Pritchard, Shonna Wilson, Judy Payne, and Amy VanWinkle. Congratulations, ladies, on this well-deserved honor.


If your child has a food allergy/intolerance,
according to USDA/KDE regulations, we must
have an annually updated Modified Meal Form
on file (see below). Print from the link below or contact your school about getting this important paperwork completed by your physician.

We are ready for our Summer Feeding Program as we partner with Hancock County Public Libraries and will be serving all kids 18 and under at Hawesville & Lewisport Methodist Churches, HCMS & SHES daily from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.  We will also serve breakfast from 8-9 a.m. at HCMS only.  If you have any questions, call 270-927-7558.  See the menu below for daily meal choices.  We will also have incentives this year.  The more times your child eats each week, the better their chances to win a weekly awarded prize at each site.  These prizes include outdoor fun games, gift cards, tickets to local attractions and even a bicycle.  In addition, we will have enrichment activities at each site to keep kids' minds active as well as their bodies.
