The Butterfly Effect Award

Butterfly Boarder

Congratulations September's Butterfly Effect Award Winner!

Sandy Wilson          Sandy Wilson          SW2

"Good to great is a constant theme at North Hancock and being great means making other people better.  Sandy Wilson is a tremendous example of always striving to help others and our school be better in a variety of ways.  She assists students every morning by coordinating our Homework Help in the library.  She is often the first one to step up if there is an event or activity that needs volunteers.  Sandy is always going above and beyond to try and create a positive environment for the staff of North Hancock.  She organizes lunches, national recognition days, such as National Hot Cocoa Day, and fun events for our students.  She quite often brings in food and special treats for the staff.   But perhaps more importantly, Sandy is a kind and caring person who makes our students and staff feel important.  She takes this all upon herself and North Hancock is better for it."--Heather Miller

Marka Herndon

"Marka Herndon teach's 6th and 8th grade mathematics at Hancock County Middle School.  Marka is a very caring individual, she strives to make sure all of the students' needs are met both academically and emotionally.  She has a unique way of reaching all students regardless of their interest in school.  Students continue to seek the support of Marka even beyond their years at HCMS.

She is also a contributing member to the parents and community members of Hancock County.  Marka is often seen at events outside of school where she can be seen building relationships with others.  She is well respected by the community.  These are just a few of the reasons I feel Marka should be the recipient of the Butterfly Effect Award."--Anonymous
