The Butterfly Effect Award

The Butterfly Effect Award
Butterfly border

The Butterfly Effect Award is an award that Mr. Estes spoke of on opening day.  It is based on the book The Butterfly Effect  by Andy Andrews.  The book looks at the question "How significant is my life? " and looks at what is now known as "The Law of Sensitive Dependence Upon Initial Conditions".  In simple terms, this law states that small actions, even as small as a butterfly flapping its wings can have enormous long-term impacts on nature, society and the world.

We want to recognize, and have others within our district recognize, the actions of our employees that are making a difference in the lives of our students, their families, our employees and our community, regardless of how small they may seem.

Congratulations September's Butterfly Effect Award Winner!

FA          Fahlin Anderson

"Fahlin has been nothing but a breath of fresh air at South Hancock. She has gone above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to the kids. She lights up the room with her smile and anyone can tell the kids just adore her (its so obvious when she is not there).  She also helped me out tremendously in the cafeteria the 1st couple weeks when my computer was down. I cant thank you enough for allowing her to join us at South Hancock.  Fahlin truly is a STAR!!!!!"--Shonna Wilson

Fellow Nominees

JCox

 John Cox

"Not for any one thing, but for the many things John does on a daily basis.  He not only keeps our buses in top-notch condition, but he is happy and willing to be of help in almost anything that is asked of him... often times things that are outside his responsibilities.  He is always jovial and in a good mood, and makes sure the coffee is fresh EVERY MORNING!"--Larry Wittman

GEstes

Ginger Estes

"Ginger has been amazing with helping become acclimated to Hancock County Schools.  She has taken extra time out of her own personal schedule to ensure that I have what I need and/or to help me get to the right person. Her support and willingness to do whatever to takes to help me feel welcomed at HCPS has meant a lot to me."--Carrie Kimbrell

GStephens

Greg Stephens

"Greg stepped into this position last minute and has dedicated time to not only to teaching the students but also to attending after school events and showing students that they are loved."--Anonymous

JWard

Jamie Ward

"Mrs. Ward spent her lunch with a student on their last day at NHES.  The student loves Mrs. Ward and was so proud to have her take the time to dote on her before she moved to another district.  I know we here it all the time, but in the case of Jamie Ward, once you are one of her students, you will always be one of her kiddos!  Another example of how Jamie has gone above and beyond in the life of a former student:  a student of Mrs. Wards for the last two years, was relocated this summer after the death of his parent.  Jamie is striving to ensure that this young boy gets ever chance at success, by being in contact with the family (almost weekly) and the student.  She has offered to help with his transition into his new school by being in touch with the school staff.  Jamie Ward is a teacher who cares and it is evident to all around her...especially her kiddos!"--Sona Miller
